Each painting is under-painted with Golden Artists Airbrush Pre-mixed Colors. Each painting is painted with artist acrylic paints, Golden and Blick Brands. If medium is added to the colors, it is Blick Brand Artist’s Acrylic Medium.

Once completed, each painting is given two coats of a mixture of Artist’s Acrylic Matte Medium and water The is per Golden Paint Company’s recommendations for archival handling and preservation of works in acrylic pigments. The isolation layer allows conservators to rework varnish over the years without endangering the pigments in the surface of the painting.

The final protection is a Liquitex Archival Matte Varnish, applied in a single coat. Acrylic paintings require this protection to prevent dirt from reaching the softer acrylic medium. Archival varnish can be removed and refreshed by art conservators without endangering the work.
