This is the view of Manhattan Beach Blvd., just before it ends and the Manhattan Beach Pier begins, from inside the Rock’n’Fish Restaurant. This is the last time my two brothers and I were able to get together. My younger brother, Dennis, died not long after, from complications from a blood clot he developed from flying back and forth several times from the East Coast to help watch my daughter while she was in critical care, in a coma.

A brief moment, this life.
