Original Painting, Fish and Lizard. See How To Buy Art
Fine Art Print, 24″ x 30″, Fish and Lizard. See About Prints
This is acrylic on gallery-wrap canvas, 24″ x 30″ x 1.5″. This house was off to the left as I walked by a Mexican restaurant toward the beach.
When I took the photograph I saw the lizard flat and very large against the wall of the house, then later looking closer saw the stone fish set next to the walk. I think I took three shots of the house, this one has the closest perspective to the painting itself.
I always take photographs between painting sessions. Sometimes I miss the first sketch, but not in this case. Here’s the sketch for the painting.
Following that was an airbrushed primary color underpainting to start to lay in the masses of the colors and define the space on the canvas. Then adding more and more paint, narrowing down to grab detail as the painting progresses.
