This cardinal has been around for a couple of years, with his mate. During the summer the color seems muted and lessened, but as soon as the leaves fall the bright red appears. I’ve been keeping a 100-400mm lens close by, but even so, this is the first real shot that showed a bird rather than a flash of color.
