Sunset 13 | Palms

Story:

These trees are everywhere in Los Angeles. There are often lift trucks in the streets taking workmen up 50 to 80 feet to trim the fronds that die and fall down against the trunk, before they drop on pedestrians. Most of the tall ones are old grownth Mexican fan palms that were planted in the late 19th/early 20th centuries.

The painting is 24" x 30" acrylic on 1-1/2" deep gallery-wrap canvas.
