Sunset 4 | Patio, Solana Beach

Story:

Solana Beach was the next town up the coast from Del Mar. Just north of Del Mar the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 101) moved right and away from the sandstone cliffs on the coast. This left Solana Beach with a deeper neighborhood right along the coast. This painting is from my memory of a beach house with a patio set out into the sand, with a stack of umbrellas leaned on a section of fence that divided it off from the neighbor.

The house itself in my memory had surfboards leaned up against it on the side.

The painting is 30" x 24" acrylic on 1-1/2" deep gallery-wrap canvas.
