Girl Reading in Hall 2004

This was deconstructing and reconstructing a Picasso. A long time ago intermediate painting was following in the mind/footsteps/palette and brushwork of a master. In that class I worked through impressionists and still lives, Renoir and Rembrandt. Not Picasso.

As soon as I started painting again, working through several of Picasso’s changing perspectives dropped me into a playful space. I scraped paint off the canvas, sketching shapes and directions to move the eye. A lot of fun.
