Flower in the Sun, 2018

This is a Fuji X-T2 with 35mm f1.4 lens, most likely. The Fujifilm digital sensor has a film quality to it nothing else I’ve ever used manages, and the 35mm lens has a microcontrast in the image that brings it very close to Leica results.

The first Fuji camera I bought was a Fuji X-Pro 1, and the 35mm lens, for $1700. It seemed like way too much money. I tried it for a couple of weeks and then sent it back. I looked through the photos I had taken with the camera a couple of months later and I was blown away by the color and the feel of the images. I eventually came back, to an X-E1, and then X-T1, and once they were old enough and cheap enough a couple of X-Pro 1 cameras. I re-acquired the 35mm lens immediately, and even after adding the 35mm f2 weather proof lens, I simply love the images the f1.4 gives,
